It’s not only highly effective for self-defense, but our Bully Safe classes are also ideal for children as it teaches our Tamariki how to subdue an opponent without causing harm and builds self-confidence.
We offer a multitude of fun and motivating BJJ classes where everyone is welcome to train at their own pace, in a friendly environment focused on personal development and good sportsmanship.

During your first week, while you’re checking out the gym and settling in, we suggest wearing shorts, a t-shirt, rashguard, or leggings. Avoid loose fabric, clothing with zippers, pockets, or belt loops as these can be hazardous for toes and fingers. O
nce you’ve settled in, you can purchase a gi, rashguard, and leggings from the team, along with your white belt. If you’re exclusively training no-gi, activewear of your choice will suffice. While it’s not mandatory to wear Axis apparel, we do offer a range of gear that you’re welcome to purchase.
The short answer is absolutely not.
People start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and even 60s. In fact, if you walk into almost any BJJ academy, you will find a massive community of older practitioners (often affectionately called the "Master's Division" or the "Over 40 Club") who are there for fitness, community, and mental stimulation.

Yes you can! People freeze for injuries, long holidays and other reasons.
Just email us and we will freeze it for you.
It needs to be of a minimum of 3 weeks and we need a date for it to unfreeze as well.
There is no lock-in time length for memberships. You can cancel anytime with 4 weeks notice.
Yes we have a family discount system, the first/oldest member pays full price, the 2nd has 10% off, the 3rd 20% off and the 4th 30% off etc. When you sign up this should be automatically applied through the system.
We use GymDesk as a gym management system and all of your payments are managed through your login at this very website!
We use a direct-debit system GoCardless which links to your account and will automatically debit the membership fees.
